English burl elm Chippendale flat top desk c1780 Item # 7494 Click HERE to inquire about this item Rare English burl wood veneered flat top Chippendale desk c1780. All original hardware and structure with later professional hand rubbed finish. The two drawer faces drop down and the drawers slide out slide out flat, similar to the drawers in a linen press. Each measures 26.5 by 19 inches. The center bottom has double doors that open for added storage. The entire top, sides and front are all covered in the finest book matched burr elm veneers framed in banded inlay. The back is finished in raised panels, allowing the desk to be placed in the center of a room. Lovely bracket base.
